Irene’s hummus recipe – three flavours

Hummus three ways – plain, roasted butternut and beetroot

Directions:

  • 1.Add all ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth.
  • 2.Adjust texture to your preference by adding some more chickpea water.
  • 3.Sprinkle with paprika
  • 4.To make beetroot or butternut hummus: Split hummus mixture in half. Add 1 boiled beetroot and a pinch of cinnamon. Blend well. Or Add 1 cup of roasted butternut with a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg. Blend well.

You'll need:

  • 1 tin of chickpeas
  • 1/2 of the chickpea water
  • 3 tbsp Tahini
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Chives
  • Herb Salt to taste
  • Optional: 1 small clove of garlic
  • Smoked Paprika for garnish

For the beetroot hummus or Butternut hummus, add these...

  • 1 Boiled beetroot
  • pinch of cinnamon / nutmeg
  • 1 cup Roasted butternut
